36 weeks pregnant!

Well here I am at 36 weeks with 4 more to go unless Baby Girl Farris decides to make her appearance early! Sounds nice right now as I sit here with my swollen feet and painful belly kicks with bags under my eyes from lack of good sleep (I know, I know, I won't get any after she's born either!!).
We've finished our classes now and had the hospital tour so I guess we're ready, right?! Ha! I have a feeling I won't remember a thing once I'm having the contractions! :)
Next Monday is our next doctor's appointment and we'll hopefully find out how much longer we most likely have until her arrival date! Please continue to keep us in your prayers during our final month and the upcoming arrival of our baby girl. We'll need it!

Birthday Parties!

We had three nephew birthdays in the month of September...Tanner turned 8, Jordan turned 8, and Riley turned 4! Our first birthday party was for Tanner on September 5th. He had a gigantic water slide in the backyard and many friends over to celebrate his special day.
Here is Carter (nephew), Christina (Carter's mom and Steve's sister) and me!
Here is Haley (niece) and Steve...I think Haley enjoyed the water slide too!
Little Trenton (Tanner's brother) having fun on the big water slide!
Here is Randy (nephew) flipping on the tampoline trying to be like Uncle Stevie!

Our next birthday party was in San Diego for Jordan & Riley. They had a Star Wars themed birthday for their many friends and had fun with a Star Wars obstacle course in the backyard.
Their cake with Star Wars characters on each balloon.
Birthday Boy #1 - Riley, 4 on Sept. 27th!
Birthday Boy #2 - Jordan, 8 on Sept. 28th
And finally big brother, Corey showing off his jumping skills over a trash can (part of the obstacle course).
We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating the birthdays of our nephews...both near and far, they are loved!

Baby Showers!

I was blessed with three baby showers to celebrate our impending baby girl! The first shower was in Kingsburg with family and family friends.
My mom with her good friend, Inge Nord.
Cousin Carla with her 2 girls, Rachel & Faith. Faith is extremely excited to have another girl in the family - she's been the last girl added to the Edwards clan in 10 years!
Nona Rhea, cousin Michelle Bergman, and my Aunt Marilyn Bergman.
Aunt Nancy, Shirley Schuil, Grandma Rosella, Lila Frueh, Susan Frueh, and Sue Frueh.
Steve's cousin Heather Davis, sister Karina, and cousins...Elisabeth Edwards, Keisha Kellerhalls, and Melissa Pap.
I'm posing next to a quilt that was started and finshed by two different Great Grandma's.
My Aunt Nancy made a posterboard of pictures showing my belly growing!
She made another posterboard of pictures from my childhood through today.
My mom fixed up the bassinet that has been in her family for 70 years and made it extra girly after so many boys in it for the past 10 years. The doll in the bassinet was also her doll when she was a little girl and I played with her too when I was little.
Here is the cake that Aunt Janie made.

My second baby shower was thrown by my coworkers at Hanford Elementary School District. The shower was out on the lawn in the courtyard and they made it extra special with lots of pink decorations and special momentos.

This is the diaper "cake" that my boss, Diane, made for me with almost 90 diapers!! It was beautiful! And the yummy cake that says, "pretty in pink, you're sure to be!"
Here's hard working pregnant Marlo helping me move my stuff!
Michele and Jeri are my two managers at work.

And this was my third shower in San Diego that my sister-in-law Wendy threw for me in the backyard...such a beautiful setting for a tea party!

Melissa Rosa & Theresa Skiles - the laugh squad! :)
Miss Tina Batson...
Favorite Cousin Cindy
Wendy, Mom & Me
Betty, Jeri Lynn, Wendy, and Jeri's two girls, Heather & Lauren

I had such a fabulous time at each baby shower and am so honored to know all of these women and celebrate with them such a dream come true for me! Love you all!

Pismo Beach vacation

Labor Day Weekend we joined my parents in Pismo Beach to relax for 3 days in my mom's friend's "vacation" home one block from the beach. It was just what we needed to relax and enjoy some down time catching up on our sleep and actually wear jeans and sweaters in the summer!

Here is Steve & Suesse on an early morning walk to the water. It seems Suesse doesn't enjoy the ocean as much as she did when she was a baby. She's not exactly a water dog - she prefers to freak out and run away from the waves!

Steve & I enjoying the sunset of the first night. We realized how much this picture looks like our honeymoon picture from Tahiti, except we are much whiter in this picture! On Saturday we went to Avila Beach and enjoyed the sunshine, as it seems Pismo is always in the fog during the day. Avila was packed with people soaking up the rays.
We finally found a restaurant to sit down - it was in a grocery store on the board walk!
On Sunday, we drove to Los Osos and tried to find the right path to Hazard Cove, a popular surfing spot for locals. My dad actually surfed here in college! When we lived in San Luis Obispo in the 80's, we would take our dogs here to the beach. It's a beautiful spot that not many people know about - tucked away in the eucalyptus trees right off the road.
We made it out of the trees and look at that view! Breathtaking!
Mom & Dad
Mom enjoying the ocean views with Suesse totally tuckered out! She almost blends in with the rock!
There were big waves that day and many surfers in the water trying to catch a good one.
Mom also took us to a beautiful nursery in Arroyo Grande, Ron's Nursery. There were beautiful coastal flowers, plants, and fountations.
For dinner we went to my favorite restaurant in the world. They are famous for pouring water from standing on chairs into your glass on the table or your head! It was delicious!

My dad took Suesse on many walks on the beach to the pier and back. I'm not sure she was used to so much exercise in her life! She took many long naps too.
My 32 week picture with the Pismo sunset.
Another vacation has to end unfortunately and back to the daily grind and 100 degree weather of the valley. If only....
